1. How Users Opt In
Consent to receive text messages is collected only through an explicit, unchecked opt-in checkbox that the user must actively select. The checkbox is never pre-selected, never bundled with any other agreement, and is never a condition of creating an account or purchasing a ticket. Messages that are strictly necessary to complete a transaction you initiated are described separately in section 1.4 below.
1.1 Account registration
A visitor creating an account at plausor.com enters their name, email address and (optionally) a mobile phone number. Below those fields are separate, individually unchecked checkboxes for the Terms of Service, the Privacy Policy, and SMS consent. The SMS checkbox reads, verbatim:
"I agree to receive text messages from Plausor for account verification, ticket confirmations, and event updates. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out."
1.2 Ticket checkout
A buyer completing a ticket purchase sees the same separate, unchecked SMS consent checkbox with the same wording. Ticking it is optional and is not required to complete the purchase.
1.3 Account settings
A signed-in user can turn SMS notifications on or off at any time from the notification preferences in their account settings, and can choose which categories of message they wish to receive.
When you tick the consent box during registration we record the date and time of your consent and the IP address it was submitted from against your account. When you later change your SMS preferences in account settings, we record the date and time of that change.
1.4 Messages necessary to complete your order
If you supply a mobile number when purchasing a ticket, that number may receive messages that are strictly necessary to deliver the order you placed — for example a purchase confirmation and delivery of your digital ticket — because those messages form part of the transaction you requested. Event reminders and other non-essential updates are sent only where you have given the consent described above, and replying STOP stops all messages of every kind.
2. Messages You May Receive
Users who opt in may receive the following categories of text message:
- Account verification and one-time login/security codes
- Password reset codes
- Ticket purchase confirmations and digital ticket delivery
- Ticket transfer notifications (sent, accepted, declined or cancelled)
- Event reminders ahead of an event you hold tickets for
- Waitlist notifications when a ticket you asked about becomes available
3. Message Frequency
Message frequency varies based on your account activity and the events you hold tickets for. You may receive multiple messages per transaction or event.
4. Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply. Check with your mobile carrier for details of your text messaging plan.
5. Opting Out and Getting Help
Opt out: Reply STOP to any message to stop all further text messages. You may also switch SMS notifications off in your account settings, or email support@plausor.com.
Help: Reply HELP to any message, or contact support@plausor.com.
Opting out of text messages may affect your ability to receive account security alerts and verification codes.
6. Privacy of Your Mobile Number
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party, except with Twilio, our messaging delivery provider, solely to deliver the messages you requested.
See our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service for full details.
